Diphenhydramine competitively inhibits histamine receptors, mitigating the effects of histamine release during allergic reactions. This action helps alleviate symptoms like itching, sneezing, and watery eyes. Phenylephrine acts as a nasal decongestant by constricting blood vessels in nasal passages, reducing swelling and congestion. This leads to improved airflow and relief from nasal discomfort. Paracetamol works centrally in the brain, inhibiting the production of prostaglandins that mediate pain and fever.
