 Hydroxyzine is an antihistamine that works by blocking the effects of histamine, a natural substance produced by the body during an allergic reaction. By inhibiting histamine activity, Hydroxyzine helps alleviate symptoms such as itching, sneezing, runny nose, and skin rash. Additionally, Hydroxyzine possesses sedative properties.    Zynhist-10 Tablets are indicated for the following conditions:

  • Treatment of pruritus (itching) caused by allergic conditions
  • Allergic reactions
  • Itching due to urticaria (nettle rash) and dermatitis
  • Management of anxiety and tension

Hydroxyzine, the active ingredient in Zynhist-10, selectively antagonizes histamine H1 receptors, providing relief from symptoms associated with allergic reactions. With its anxiolytic properties, Hydroxyzine contributes to the management of anxiety.

Absorption:

Zynhist-10 is well-absorbed following oral administration, with minimal influence from food intake.

Distribution:

The medication exhibits a wide distribution throughout the body. Its binding to plasma proteins varies, with a concentration-dependent relationship. Hydroxyzine can cross the blood-brain barrier, contributing to its central nervous system effects.

Excretion:

Hydroxyzine undergoes hepatic metabolism to form its active metabolite, cetirizine, enhancing its therapeutic effects. The drug and its metabolites are primarily excreted in the urine.

Zynhist-10 tablets are contraindicated in individuals with:

  • Known hypersensitivity to Hydroxyzine or any of its components
  • Acute porphyria
  • During early pregnancy

Before using Zynhist-10, consider the following precautions:

  • Caution in patients with a history of QT interval prolongation
  • Use with caution in elderly patients with cognitive impairment
  • Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment
  • May cause drowsiness; caution with activities requiring mental alertness
